Dr. Cathy Reimers, clinical psychologist with over 30 years of providing psychotherapy to children, teens and adults in a traditional office setting now provides Telehealth psychotherapy and wellness coaching via interactive video conferencing. She has developed two wellness programs the Anxiety Reduction Program and the Dog Mindfulness Program for reducing and managing stress and anxiety. The knowledge of neuroscience evidenced-based anxiety reduction techniques, combined with the practices of mindfulness, are proven methods for managing anxiety.

Wellness has always been a passion and a way of life for Dr. Cathy.  She grew up on a 120-acre farm in New Jersey and certainly appreciated the outdoors, nature with wildlife at her feet, raising nutritious food, working hard, importance of sleep and exercise and allowing one’s mind to relax and recharge while driving a tractor.

As an adult Dr. Cathy continued her wellness quest and went on to get a Master’s Degree in Health, Physical Education and Leisure.  As a teacher and a sport’s coach she understood the principles of training, repetition, mental rehearsal, setting goals, fitness, and good mental health for optimal performance.  Motivated by her teaching and coaching experience in helping kids with their problems she then pursued her doctorate in psychology to obtain higher education and training understanding the importance of how mental health impacts a person’s overall wellness.

Dr. Cathy co-author two ADHD books in her early career and then in 2016, Dr. Cathy published, The Mind, Heart And Soul Of Depression: Your Guided Journal For Emotional Healing And Getting To The Truth Of The Matter and in 2015, The Perfect Family Storm: Tips to Restore Mental Health and Strengthen Family Relationships in Today’s World.  During that time, she enjoyed producing her own internet talk-radio shows, presenting many topics in mental health and taking calls from her audience.

In recent years, observing more people having multiple problems managing their stress and anxiety, some related to cultural, political, family, economic and pandemic challenges that was facing the nation, she was very motivated to address the mental health crisis.  Dr. Cathy pursued the latest, research based and effective techniques to cope with stress and anxiety. Dr. Cathy obtained advanced training in anxiety and holds a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) certificate which is training in current neuroscience-based techniques and cognitive behavioral methods for treating anxiety. In addition, she holds a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Treatment (MBCPT) certificate which is another way to reduce stress and anxiety training with evidenced-based, specific types of mindfulness practice techniques.

Dr. Cathy now resides in the Lake Tahoe, California area providing Telehealth and Wellness coaching. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, hiking, mountain E-biking, alpine and cross-skiing, snowshoeing, meditation, and visiting with grandchildren and granddogs.
